Lara Downes is considered one of the most exciting pianists today. Her noteworthy debuts at London’s Queen Elizabeth Hall, in Vienna and at Carnegie Hall were celebrated by critics. Along with performing a classical music repertoire, Lara frequently presents works by young new composers. Her performances include a variety of genres from a recently discovered Piano Concerto by Clara Schumann to a World Premiere Recording of “On Gossamer Wings,” by Jazz composer Benny Golson. She is the Artistic Director of Arts Exchange, a project dedicated to building creative partnerships between visual and performing arts.
