Kim Kashkashian is considered one of the most accomplished Viola soloists of her generation, she has recorded over 40 critically acclaimed CD’s and collaborated with such musical luminaries as cellist, Yo-Yo Ma and violinist Gidon Kremer. Her travels in performance throughout the world, has allowed her to work diligently as a staunch proponent of commissioning new works for the Viola. Her appearances with major Orchestras has allowed her to enlarge the repertoire for the Viola. Kim Kashkashian’s extensive teaching experience includes professorships at the University of Indiana and in conservatories in Freiburg and Berlin, Germany. She is currently professor of Viola and Chamber Music at the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston.
