What an Amazing Project! Our Great Friends Drea and Stephen Ingle of Creative Kids, are sharing their artistic inspiration with the amazing Boys and Girls Clubs of El Paso. EPPM is thrilled to provide exciting music to these “one of a kind,” virtual videos. This week, the music of UTEP Grad Student Chris Beroes-Haigis and his friend from Venezuela, Lorenzo Pineda, who virtually, performed ‘Natalia,” a Venezuelan Waltz. Thank you Creative Kids for Making Such a Difference for the Children in our Community.

Cherry Duke, who created a “virtual” sensation with Opera UTEP’s “What is Opera?2” performs this stunning rendition of “He’s Got the Whole World In His Hands.”

Here is our weekly collaboration with Creative Kids of El Paso, where we combine fabulous Art Lessons by Steven Ingle, Creative Director of Creative Kids, and Music. This week’s lesson in Paper Sculpture is presented through the PBS “El Paso Learning Neighborhood.” The amazing musical inspiration is provided by Pianist Matt Herskowitz, who opened the 2020 EPPM Chamber Music Festival with his amazing Jazz and Classical combinations.

The glorious sounds of the Cello filled the air this weekend in Downtown El Paso, as Zuill Bailey provided comforting soothing sounds for all at the Kelly Center for Hunger Relief. He performed works by Bach as he comforted all on a Beautiful, Cloudy Saturday Morning.

An Incredible Virtual Performance of the Roswell Symphony Orchestra and their 2020 Beethoven Birthday Bash, featuring the incredible talents of Dr. Steve Wilson, Trombone, Cherry Duke and Brian Downen of the UTEP Department of Music Vocal Section.

Dr. Dena Kay Jones and Violinist Mark Schuppner  perform “Siete Canciones Valencianas,” by the  Famed Spanish  Composer Joaquin Rodrigo.

Renowned Pianist and Assistant Chair of the UTEP Department of Music and Keyboard Area Coordinator, Oscar Macchioni performs “La Muerte del Angel,” commemorating the 100th Birthday of Composer Astor Piazzolla.

 

Catalyst String Quartet- Performing works by Florence Price,( 1887-1953), the First African American woman to be recognized as a Symphonic Composer.

Renowned Pianist Victor Asuncion, who accompanied the Late Extraordinary Cellist Lynn Harrell, for the 2020 Chamber Music Festival Finale, pays tribute to Composer Ennio Morricone. Enjoy “Cinema Paradiso.”

Picasso and Piazzolla! Stephen Ingle of Creative Kids provides a wonderful learning experience For the Boys and Girls Clubs of El Paso, inspired by the Sculptures of the Great Pablo Picasso.

Music and Art Unite as Creative Kids uses music as the inspiration for “The Art of the Still Life,” for the Boys and Girls Clubs of El Paso.

Pianist Yuliya Gorenman inspires us all with a very special “Virtual Concert,” featuring “October- Autumn Song,” from Tchaikovsky’s “The Seasons.” The presentation is accompanied by artwork created by her Father, Lazar Gorenman. Originally from Kazahkstan, Yuliya and her family reside in Maryland.

Kristiana Ignatjeva, representing these UTEP Center for Arts Entrepreneurship, offers soothing healing sounds as we mark the First Anniversary of the El Paso Shooting!

Richard Trombone Camp 2020
An Amazing Workshop featuring some of the finest Trombonists, including UTEP Department of Music Chair and renowned musician Dr. Steve Wilson. The event held last weekend included Workshops and a Faculty Recital. Dr. Richard Harris, a Trombone Soloist, Teacher at the University of Denver and passionate advocate for bringing music and the arts to under-served populations, performs in this amazing Recital, along with Dr. Steve Wilson, Toby Oft, Boston Symphony, Paul Pollard, Metropolitan Opera and Barry Hearn from the Dallas Symphony. Richard Harris worked alongside Dr. Steve Wilson at UMC in El Paso to provide soothing and comforting music last August immediately following the El Paso Shooting.
